The portraits are gathering pace and I have a few near completion, pictured here in the new studio at The Model in Sligo. In the coming months I am hoping to created a lot more images working collaboratively with the sitters to devise settings that have personal resonance.
Coincidentally I have been reading John Berger’s The Shape of a Pocket, which has a series of beautifully written and acutely observed sections which focus on the face, and on the very kind of humanist approach to making art I have been struggling to articulate in the works.
Over the next few months I am going to put up the images as they are made to create a timeline of the project.
